
Pascal Borry is full professor of bioethics at the Centre for Biomedical Ethics and Law (University of Leuven, Belgium). Since 2020 he is also chair of the Department of Public Health and Primary Care of the University of Leuven.
His main research activities are concentrated on the ethical, legal and social implications of innovative technologies. He published more than 250 publications in international peer reviewed journals on topics related to genetic testing, public health genomics, research ethics, newborn screening and gene therapy. He teaches several courses on bioethics and medical ethics at KU Leuven, and is member of the Belgian Consultative Committee on Bioethics. He participates in various national and international research projects, including the EU funded project Gene Therapy for treatment of rare inherited Arrhythmogenic CardioMyopathy (GEREMY). He is also involved in the development of digital research ethics training materials in the EU funded project Challenges and innovative changes in research ethics reviews (CHANGER).
