Utrecht University, established in 1636, offers 59 bachelor's and 156 master's programs across seven faculties, and employs over 8,500 staff, including 700+ professors. It houses over 3000 PhD students and produces around 8,500 publications and 500 dissertations annually. UU's research is organized into four Interdisciplinary Strategic Themes: Dynamics of Youth, Institutions for Open Societies, Life Sciences, and Pathways to Sustainability. The university is a member of the League of European Research Universities. The Faculty of Medicine collaborates with the UMCU on biomedical education and research, with all UMCU PhD programs part of the UU Graduate School of Life Sciences.
