Universitat de Barcelona

Universitat de Barcelona was founded in 1450. Today, as the largest university in Barcelona, it boasts of a student body of 62,696 and a research staff of 5,825 members. Degrees are offered in 74 different areas of teaching with numerous postgraduate and doctorate programmes as well as continuing education courses. Since January 2010, the university is part of the prestigious League of European Research Universities, a network of elite research-intensive universities across Europe. In 2013, it signed the European Charter for Researchers to promote and improve working conditions of researchers.
